Web And Digital Development Associate

 

Description:

The Web and Digital Media Associate’s primary role is to coordinate sub brand website production-related projects, updates, processes and incidents at the College, including acting as primary liaison with the College website host, 3rd parties, internal departments and other stakeholders. The incumbent will collaborate with Marketing staff to align digital and print creative development, while staying abreast of cutting-edge digital web strategies in order to enhance Niagara College’s web presence.

 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaboratively defining an appropriate web strategy for college sub brands.
  • Consulting with departments and end users on their web goals, ensuring that overall requirements are met while maintaining standards for appearance and usability on their primary website.
  • Performing theme, template and content level edits to WordPress websites using PHP, HTML and CSS, and building and updating WordPress Elementor-based websites.
  • Independently planning, designing, and building high quality, accessible websites from start to finish, including management of client relations, timelines, scoping, project planning, content gathering and so on.
  • Creating static and animated graphics for digital applications and managing digital advertising boards located across the campus.
  • Identifying requirements and initiating projects independently to anticipate and address web challenges proactively.
  • Staying updated with the latest web development trends and technologies to enhance project outcomes.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Two (2) year diploma in Multimedia and Web Design, Computer Technology or similar field of study
  • Two (2) years of experience coordinating, monitoring and maintaining web sites, with focus on planning, content structure design and development.
  • Proven experience in WordPress and Elementor-based accessible web development, adhering to web and accessibility (AODA) standards, with a portfolio of completed projects. Knowledge of WordPress theme and plugin development would be a benefit.
  • Excellent understanding of advanced HTML5/CSS3, including flex and grid is required. Javascript/jQuery knowledge as well as previous experience with WordPress Advanced Custom Fields considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator with an understanding of vector and raster graphics.
  • Excellent prioritization and project management skills, with an ability to determine the importance and urgency of tasks.
  • Ability to work independently, making strategic decisions aligned with college objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying ideas and gathering feedback without direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and integrating multiple web projects.
