This role offers you the unique opportunity to collaborate with Project Managers and Senior Project Managers on transformative, large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects. What you will do in this role:
- Collaborate with project managers on water/wastewater projects to achieve deliverables across all project phases, including planning, executing, monitoring, and close-out.
- Develop and monitor project charters and management plans with clearly defined milestones, and support communication plans through materials like newsletters, project updates, and status reports.
- Conduct surveys, focus groups, and research to inform project scope and recommend improvements based on best practices and functional review analysis.
- Assess change impacts, program readiness, and current state within departments, and work with stakeholders to develop and monitor time, scope, and budget requirements.
- Lead working groups and project teams, ensuring coordination within and across departments to achieve outcomes.
- Manage and report on project activities, prepare presentations and meetings for sponsors and stakeholders, and develop communications.
- Analyze documentation and legislation, offering recommendations, and develop tender documents, RFPs, and Council reports.
- Provide technical input for the Region’s asset management system, developing infrastructure renewal policies and programs, assessing renewal needs, and creating capital plans.
- Offer feedback on secondary plans, official plan amendments, and service studies; recommend business improvements for infrastructure assessment.
- Collaborate with municipalities and utilities for infrastructure coordination, and lead vulnerability and risk assessments for the water/wastewater system.
- Prepare project management documents, assemble project teams, and identify resources, project scope, and deliverables for successful project outcomes.
What the role requires:
- University or college degree in Engineering, Geo Science, or Earth Sciences, with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of water infrastructure and related functions.
- Knowledge of project management principles and methodology.
- Knowledge of change management principles and methodologies, with experience in implementing change tactics.

- Leadership and project management skills to guide project teams in developing project scope, managing financials, and overseeing consultants.
