Vidyard is looking for a Vice President, Sales to lead our Sales team. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, your primary responsibilities will involve attracting, leading and retaining a high-performing sales team capable of achieving exceptional results. You will play a key role in nurturing major account relationships, closing complex deals and fostering long-term partnerships. You’ll also help ensure the programmatic scaled growth of the smaller, more transactional segments

This is a remote role open to candidates located in Canada and the United States.

About the Team

Our Sales team consists of a Sales, Business Development and Partnerships team of approximately 50 reps and leaders that drive revenue growth in alignment with our aggressive business objectives. With a leadership team of seven leaders, the teams are responsible for managing Sales and Business Development, New Ventures, Small Business, Medium Enterprise, Enterprise Account Management and Partnerships to drive revenue growth through repeatable sales models with compelling value propositions tailored to diverse client markets and geographies.

What You’ll Work On

  • Take a major role in key account relationships, closing complex deals and building ongoing relationships
  • Drive top line results while building an effective and scalable inside sales and outbound lead generation organization
  • Work with our senior leadership team to define and execute the overall company strategy including market expansion, product, brand, and culture

As Vice President, Sales you will be responsible for:

  • Sales Strategy and Planning:
    • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and refine the overall sales strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives.
    • Identify new market opportunities and assess the competitive landscape to drive revenue growth.
    • Develop and implement effective sales plans, ensuring alignment with marketing, product, and customer success teams.
  • Sales Team Leadership:
    • Recruit, onboard, and lead a high-performing sales team, including sales managers and individual contributors.
    • Foster a collaborative and motivational sales culture in line with Vidyard values that emphasizes accountability, professional development, and excellence.
    • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular coaching, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Revenue Generation:
    • Own and deliver on the company's revenue targets, monitoring sales metrics and performance indicators.
    • Drive sales team productivity and effectiveness through the use of data-driven insights and sales analytics.
    • Ensure the team successfully manages the sales funnel, from lead generation to closing deals, and accurately forecast revenue projections.
  • Customer Engagement and Relationship Management:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring customer satisfaction, retention, and upsell opportunities.
    • Collaborate with customer success and support teams to ensure seamless onboarding and ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with product management and marketing teams to provide market feedback, contribute to product development, and refine go-to-market strategies.
    • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to optimize sales processes and resource allocation.
  • Partnerships:
    • Oversee Partnership & Alliances, own and set appropriate KPIs/ metrics, decide on future partnerships, and hold yourself and the team accountable for achieving them

What You’ll Bring to this Role and Your New Team:

  • Experience leading teams and working cross-functionally with marketing, product management/design, and operations
  • 7-10+ years' experience in a similar role, leading B2B SaaS sales teams
  • Positive with a collaborative attitude and the ability to demonstrate initiative
  • Experience with, or ability to work with teams across multiple time zones
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Your relationships with both internal and external stakeholders are vital to the success of your team
  • Strong ability to organize, prioritize workload and to be proactive. Being able to manage conflicting and fast changing work items
  • Proven track record of success in high-growth organizations within the SaaS space
  • Experience carrying and consistently meeting a quota, while enabling your team to do the same
  • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to guide or mentor staff
