Description:
In addition to leading a team of three full-time employees, the primary role of the VP of HR will be to provide human resources expertise to our diverse client base. This will include guidance on matters related to employee relations, conflict resolution, performance management, terminations, and compliance with labour laws. The incumbent must also have advanced experience preparing salary grid reviews and job evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to client requests for HR support in a timely manner.
Lead and manage internal HR operations, providing guidance and support to a team of three employees and an external IT consultant.
Advise employers on the interpretation of human resources policies, compensation and benefit programs and HR best practices.
Assist clients with advanced HR projects such as pay equity reviews and compensation planning.
Stay current on HR trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance.
Provide oversight for our in-house HRIS system (in partnership with our IT consultant/software developer).
Act as the public face of our firm, representing the company at conferences and business engagements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Proven experience as a senior HR leader, at the Director or VP level.
Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build strong relationships with employers.
