Description:
The Product Engineer for the Vehicle Dynamics Virtual Analysis is responsible for the analysis to support advanced vehicle programs with component and sub system specifications to meet full vehicle performance targets for Ride, Handling and Steering. The selected candidate will be integral with the team and work with test engineers, program team and the component release teams. Offline Validation, preparing Driver In the Loop models and HIL/SIL integration as necessary for supporting the recommendations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- 3 years of engineering experience
- Solid understanding of system/component design/development processes
- Familiarity with Vehicle Ride, Handling, and Steering, and associated simulation techniques
- Understanding of the subsystems and components - (e.g. Suspension Kinematics/Compliance, tires, springs, shocks and steering/Braking systems
- Experience with Simulation tools (e.g. ADAMS Car, CARSIM, MATLAB, EXCEL)
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and the ability to coordinate activities.
- Self-starter with demonstrated problem solving and work planning ability
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to develop custom routines - e.g. Visual Basic, Python, MATLAB
- Experience with Hardware In the Loop, Software in the Loop & Driver in the Loop
- Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R)
- Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis(DFMEA)
- Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) method
- Ability to extract component detail from NX, Teamcenter
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to summarize and present work to management and cross-functional teams
- Remote with some travel to the US for meetings (only) not working
