Truck Driver

Description:

The employee is responsible for operating an end dump tandem truck with air brakes and an automatic transmission. The position will consist of working in and around the City of Winnipeg with roadway construction contractors. Manual labour is not required of this position.
Experience in the construction industry is considered an asset but the employer is willing to train the successful candidate.

Requirements:

• Valid Manitoba Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with air endorsement
• Clean drivers abstract
• Previous end dump experience preferred, hauling aggregate, mud and concrete
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment
• Follow company operating safety policies and procedures and maintain accurate records
• Complete driver’s logbook & daily vehicle inspection (pre-trip, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, accident or incident reports
• Willingness to learn and the ability to work within a cohesive team/unit
• Must successfully complete pre-employment interview and testing
• Part of a team that will be required to move from job site to job site as required
• Capable of working variable shifts with extended hours
• Experience driving manual transmission not required but considered an asset
• Performs other duties as assigned
