The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) has initiated a major campus redevelopment project known as Project Horizon (PH). Project Horizon represents major transformational efforts at SickKids, including: the transformation of our workplace and culture to support contemporary workplace practices; a clinical transformation to improve and modernize the way we deliver care as part of a paediatric health system; support for the decanting strategy and renovations of the campus; and a patient and family-centred engagement approach underlying this transformation of SickKids.

The Project Horizon Training and Orientation (T&O) Facilitator will play a critical role in supporting the training, orientation, and go live support in the opening of the new Patient Support Centre (PSC). The T&O Facilitator will be primarily responsible for leading end user training and orientation for Project Horizon using the curriculum designed by the Training and Orientation Program Manager. The T&O Facilitator will be responsible for providing workflow specific training, space orientation and technology overview to support staff in Corporate Services, Medical Administration and Specialty areas. The T&O Facilitator will also assist with pre-, during, and post-move support and provide refresher and skills enhancement training and orientation.

Here's what you'll get to do:

  • Lead and facilitate sessions about workspace principles and guidelines, space requirements given regulatory requirements, new technology to support room and desk booking, and other operational readiness requirements
  • Work with multiple Clinical and Non-Clinical leaders and program champions simultaneously to address any unique workflow requirements, investigates and manages any ongoing inquiries, concerns or feedback
  • Create and adjust training and orientation materials in collaboration with the Program Manager
  • Produce and administer training and orientation reports, plans and outputs such as proficiency assessments, in-class evaluations, scheduling tools, and completing in-system checklists
  • Identify any training gaps and help to resolve less defined needs and update training materials accordingly
  • Prepare for in-class and virtual sessions, set up the classroom, and maintain training records
  • Test lesson plans and training and orientation activities
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
