Technology Services Summer Student

Description:

YRL (Yellowhead Regional Library) is seeking a Technology Services Summer Student to join their team for an 8-week term starting May 12, 2025. This position offers an excellent opportunity for students currently enrolled in a post-secondary technology-related program to gain practical experience in the IT field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in auditing and documenting IT assets.

• Help develop processes to improve tracking and management of equipment.

• Develop an automated solution to manage staff account onboarding and offboarding.

• Create user-friendly documentation for processes and systems.

• Collaborate on process improvements related to IT service management.

• Provide general support to the Technology Services team and other departments as needed.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technology field.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint).

• Ability to develop automated solutions or applications is an asset.

• Basic understanding of identity and access management principles.

• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

• Professional and positive attitude.

Conditions of Employment:

• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

• Must work during YRL operating hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm).

Compensation:

• The salary is $21.24 per hour with 4% vacation pay, based on the 2025 salary grid and a 35-hour work week.
