Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Drafting technical reports as well as other required project documents, as needed.
  • Creating the User Guide in accordance with the federal government technical publication writing guidance.
  • Collaborating with subject-matter experts to ensure content is technically accurate and relevant.
  • Reviewing and analyzing project documentation created by the technical team.
  • Combining comments from circulated drafts and preparing final and related documents.
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining End User Guide documentation, and providing sufficient textual and visual information to assist the user in completing specific tasks independently.
  • Translating the document into Canadian French for review and approval.
  • Working independently, as well as collaborating with other business and technical peers, to balance and support multiple documentation projects and releases.
  • Contributing to improving processes, standards, and templates for the team.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have:

Education:

  • BA, BS, or equivalent in English or communications with strong technical skills.

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in professional technical writing or training.
  • Must possess in-depth technical writing experience with Government of Canada IT-related documents.

Technical skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 products, such as SharePoint Online, Teams, Office 365 applications (Outlook, Viva Engage) security policies and best practices, etc.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
