Technical Graphic Designer

Sharkz Coins - Our graphics team design custom metal products like challenge coins, 3D enforcement badges, hat badges and items like belt buckles for military and emergency services clients. Designing custom coins requires an artistic yet technical style of design. We think that the best candidate will have some technical/graphic design training as well as being artistically creative. If you’re able to conceptualize and create a 3D product, we want to meet you!

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Design pressed metal products - primarily challenge coins and police badges for clients.

- Work directly with clients to ascertain their goals, and design products they love.

- Examine sketches and analyze design ideas to evaluate their feasibility.

- Assist with a variety of creative graphic design activities to support all lines of business.

Required skills:

- Artistically creative.

- Required proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

- Ability to visualize how a two-dimensional design will look as a three-dimensional product.

- Ability to use vernier callipers to measure the details in a three dimensional object and accurately recreate that object digitally in Adobe Illustrator.

- Ability to specify the technical aspects of a design that will be used to produce a product.

- Ability to critique one’s own work, and the work of others, for accuracy and detail.

- High-level communication skills in both written and verbal English.

What We’re Looking For:
- two years of post secondary training in a relevant field.

- a keen eye for detail including proofreading spelling along with proofing the technical details of design.

- Proven ability to understand the big picture, while attending to the details to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly.

- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.

- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve effectively.

- Demonstrated ability to take direction.

- Ability to change focus with changing priorities.
