The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for managing end-to-end recruitment processes, strengthening the employer brand, and cultivating relationships with highly skilled talent. With a focus on delivering exceptional customer service, this role employs innovative and creative sourcing methods to attract top candidates while ensuring a positive and engaging candidate experience throughout the recruitment journey. The Talent Acquisition Specialist takes ownership of the full recruitment cycle, from requisition creation to offer management, and plays a pivotal role in shaping the organization's talent acquisition strategy. By leveraging their expertise, they actively contribute to building a diverse talent pipeline and enhancing the organization's reputation as an employer of choice.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Deliver excellent customer service to ensure an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Participate in and administer end-to-end recruitment activities, managing documentation.
  • Own the full cycle recruitment process, including intake meetings, sourcing strategies, offer negotiations, and background checks.
  • Build and maintain a robust candidate pipeline through various sourcing channels, emphasizing diversity.
  • Provide updated reports, Talent Acquisition dashboards, and key metrics to stakeholders.
  • Educate and consult Hiring Managers on hiring best practices, including active candidate sourcing, networking, and diversity.
  • Organize and participate in recruiting events, fostering partnerships with employment agencies, educational institutions, and community hiring partners.
  • Recommend operational policies and procedures, performance standards, and service levels for continuous improvement.
  • Support comprehensive programs led by specialist colleagues in areas such as HR Advisory, Pay & Benefits, HR Analytics, and Learning & Development.
  • Develop and maintain constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide direction and assign tasks to the Talent Acquisition Assistant.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and peers in the HR team to support Assistants and Coordinators across the Branch.
  • Troubleshoot and provide technical support for internal and external inquiries related to the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Contribute to the development of internal work practices, including guidelines, procedures, and tools.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in a high-growth environment sourcing corporate support roles (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience working in the public sector, crown corporations, or large organizations is an asset.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to lead by example and work as a team player with colleagues across the organization.
  • Skilled at balancing competing priorities in a high-volume environment and taking ownership of tasks.
  • Strong technical aptitude with an interest in leveraging technology for analysis and process efficiency.
  • Proficiency using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean searching techniques, and other social media and internet sourcing tools.
  • Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of HR policies, practices, procedures, and trends, including employee, recruitment and selection, organization planning and classification, employee training, development, and organization development.
  • Ability to think creatively, embrace innovation, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Intermediate skills in Office365, SharePoint, and HCM solutions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical and confidential content, in various formats such as presentations and group facilitation.
  • Demonstrates high standards of behavior, professionalism, and commitment to quality service.
  • Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong sourcing capabilities with a proven track record of engaging passive candidates and building diverse pipelines.

 

EDUCATION

  • Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.
