Description:

Under the direction of the Manager, Education & Training & Labour Market, the purpose of the Supervisor is to provide appropriate supportive interventions to frontline programming to ensure the quality, consistency and continuity of daily Education and Training programming operations Varying supports and/or individualized action plans will be developed, actioned and monitored by the Supervisor. This position will not have a budgetary authority specifically; however, will work in collaboration in the development of project work plans and partnering budgets, and also ensure that direct funding support programs are operating within established parameters. The Supervisor is responsible for promoting a health and safety culture at the MNO, managing employee return to work and accommodations, handling employee relations issues.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Human Resources Responsibilities: (10%)

  • The supervisor will provide support, training and skill development and supportive interventions to regional frontline employees for matters related to standards of service provision.
  • The supervisor will participate in the recruiting process of new roles and back filled roles by supporting interview and selection panels
  • Lead monthly regional work plans calls with regional staff and report back to the management team.
  • Participate in regular Supervisor’s and operations meeting with Management team
  • Assist with scheduled, and as needed, client and citizen communications
  • Assist frontline with planning/marketing various submission activities; report back as per the template format
  • Review Event planning templates and send forward requests, etc. as required.
  • Receive and forward documentation from frontline onwards (posters, duty to report, etc.)
  • Facilitate the interactions to support regional front line through program change when it is presented
  • Support mangers with assignments as required.
  • Engage in supportive site visits as required; report back as per the template format (file and client case management)

Qualifications

– Relevant background in Métis focused and broader Indigenous education, and employment programs
– Strong desire to act in the service of the Métis Citizens, to advance and uphold rights and culture
– A post-secondary degree or certification in a related field (preferred in business, management, or education)
– Excellent management and interpersonal skills.
– Strong verbal and written communication skills.
– Ability to motivate team to accomplish objectives.
– Ability to solve conflicts among coworkers.
– Ability to remain organized with an understanding of records, inventories and other routine documentation.
– Ability to work alone/independently with minimal supervision
– Ability to accommodate a Flexible work schedule with ability to work extended hours or week-ends occasionally
– Bilingualism is an asset but not required
