Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Part-Time Weekend Medical Device Reprocessing Department Supervisor to join our team to ensure that all medical device reprocessing activities are performed according to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. In this role you will ensure that all aspects of Medical Device transportation, supply and equipment reprocessing, distribution and inventory control/management are met.
Here’s What You’ll Get To Do:
- Ensure that high standards of asepsis, safety, security, quality assurance and accountability are achieved.
- Ensure that all supervisory activities focus on customer service, teamwork, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
- Ensure and provide clean, disinfected and/or sterile medical devices, equipment, and linens to user areas for safe patient care.
- Maintain a high standard of environmental cleanliness within MDRD and provide an efficient distribution service to Clinical areas.
- Ensure the efficient and safe operation of MDRD.
- Deal with a wide variety of hospital partners from nursing to department managers to vendor sales representatives.
- Preparation of work schedules and assignments as required to ensure staffing requirements are met.
- Purchase supplies and equipment and prepare purchase orders as required.
- Meet with vendors, salespersons, nurse units to address issues as necessary.
- Ensures that staff are up to date on current departmental initiatives through effective communication.
- Handle situations with an array of urgencies in completing tasks ranging from non-urgent requests such as purchases or repairs to very urgent requests such as an ongoing OR procedure needing instruments that need quick decisions and actions to be taken.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Graduate of a recognized Business and/or Service course at University or College level.
- College Sterile Supply Processing or MDRAO certification.
- 2-5 years supervisory/leadership experience in a Health Care Institute.
- Must have well developed interpersonal, demonstrated supervisory and problem-solving skills.
- Full knowledge of CSA standards related to medical device reprocessing.
- Full knowledge of all aspects of MDRD.
- Familiar with MDRD equipment, instrumentation, and supplies.
- Superior analytical and planning skills.
- Ability to understand the needs of the department and other hospital areas served.
- Drive to motivate staff and good communication is paramount.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
