Description:
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee the construction of a mid-rise residential project in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in managing mid-rise or high-rise residential projects, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion within budgetary constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all on-site activities to ensure the project progresses according to schedule and within budget.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction, including but not limited to design changes, scheduling conflicts, and subcontractor disputes.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to address technical issues and ensure project specifications are met.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work performed, materials used, and manpower hours.
- Communicate effectively with project team members, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project status and address any concerns.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Superintendent on mid-rise or high-rise residential construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and materials.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of subcontractors and workers.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Thorough understanding of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Valid construction safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR) preferred.
