Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
- Analyze business requirements thoroughly and recommend appropriate solutions in collaboration with IT and members of Student and Enrollment Services and other stakeholder groups
- Analysts have a primary responsibility for interfacing between Student and Enrollment Services/other stakeholders and IT on individual requirements in order to ensure student systems are well managed and respond to the needs of the organization
- In this role, they must understand the roles and specific disciplines related to Enrollment Services and IT in order to conceptualize and communicate solutions
- Must learn, analyze and provide solutions to support increases in efficiencies within business units. This includes learning best practices internally and externally with regards to using our technologies
- Using in depth knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and the other student applications, act as a resource person for the Enrollment Services and other stakeholders staff, designing solutions to meet their business requirements. These solutions can be simple or can involve multiple functions that impact thousands of students on an ongoing basis. Business Analysts are expected to work independently and receive guidance from senior Business Analysts.
- Participate in the testing and approval of specific projects or change management requests in the Campus Solutions system such as version upgrades, application of maintenance packs/bundles, Oracle database upgrades, PeopleTools upgrades and the implementation of specific stand-alone applications
- Review implemented solutions; ensuring changes have been made correctly and respond to the needs of the organization. This is in order to optimize the performance of the system and ensure that changes to the student applications do not adversely impact the student experience
- Communicate changes to the end users or to specified training resources. As required, provide additional documentation and work aides and be a resource for end users as they operationalize any recent changes to the student applications
Qualifications / Requirements:
- An Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent education and/or experience
- Certificate in Business Analysis or CBAP designation is an asset
- Certificate or proven expertise in SQL, Queries, and data analysis including strong expertise in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams, Outlook, etc.) or other analytical software
- Certificate or proven experience in at least one programming language such as C, C++, Java, Python, html, VBA, etc.
- A minimum 3 years experience as a Business Analyst working with a large scale ERP; or a minimum of 5 years experience working directly with PeopleSoft - Campus Solutions and a strong technical background
- Advanced level knowledge of business analysis and design in one or more PeopleSoft focus area modules, including experience with configurable tables and business processes.
- Advanced level knowledge of PeopleSoft processes and best practices as well as current business processes for Student and Enrolment Services
- Leadership experience in solving and driving change in systems and processes
- Customer service oriented
- Team player - willing to collaborate with other team members and user departments to resolve problems quickly and effectively
- Ability to follow rigorous project management practices and methodology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong business acumen and organizational abilities to balance strategies against what is functionally, technologically, and financially feasible
