Description:
The successful incumbent will provide a range of psychological services including direct assessment, treatment, and consultation services to children and families of the Centre who are experiencing a range of complex mental health, behavioural, and learning challenges. These diagnostic and formulation-based assessments and consultations will be used primarily for ongoing treatment planning in collaboration with clients, their families, and their clinicians. The successful incumbent will report to both the Senior Clinical Manager, Individual and Family Services and the Advance Practice Lead for Psychology and Interprofessional Education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates with and provides consultations to the client and their family, their clinician, and/or inter-professional clinical teams to support clinical assessment, formulation, and treatment planning
- Conducts mental health/psychodiagnostic assessments and comprehensive psychological assessments and consultations for children and adolescents ages approximately 5 – 18 years and uses these assessment results to support treatment planning
- Provides a range of direct treatment services to children, adolescents, and families, i.e., individual and family therapy using a variety of modalities in which the clinician is competent. Psychotherapy would also include case management and liaison
- Participates in the psychology training program, e.g., by supervising psychology residents, reviewing applications, participating in interviews and training committee meetings
- Completes all client documentation (including, but not limited to, contact notes, assessment reports, incident reports/serious occurrence reports, etc.) in a timely and succinct manner and that meets agency, professional, and legal standards
- Ensures that all required client tracking and statistical information is submitted per agency procedures & requirements
- Maintains up-to-date professional development that is relevant to the position and the Centre’s mission & mandate
- Participates in relevant meetings, reports regularly, and as required by the designated supervisor
- Ensures that provided services are carried out in accordance with Centre policies, procedures, and standards including those related to case management, documentation, and reports
