Description:
We are seeking an Intermediate/Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing and reviewing structural projects, either as the lead engineer or in collaboration with other team members. Your expertise and attention to detail will be critical in delivering high-quality solutions for a variety of structural projects.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor and support junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow in their careers. You will work closely with architects, contractors, municipalities, and private companies to develop customized solutions for projects ranging from residential buildings to complex industrial structures. Your experience and strong analytical skills will be instrumental in ensuring accurate and efficient execution of projects.
#Key Responsibilities
As an Intermediate/Senior Structural Engineer, your daily responsibilities will include:
Ø Collaborating with architects and project owners to define project scope and requirements.
Ø Developing efficient and effective structural designs that meet client needs.
Ø Performing design and analysis of structures, as well as reviewing designs completed by other engineers.
Ø Ensuring code compliance and conducting document reviews before finalizing project deliverables.
Ø Coordinating structural requirements with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
Ø Acting as the Engineer of Record, responsible for design calculations and review of structural designs, including wood, concrete, and steel-framed structures.
Ø Attending project design meetings, conducting field reviews, preparing cost estimates, and reviewing shop drawings.
Ø Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Ø Contributing to the development and implementation of design standards and best practices.
Ø Ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, and safety guidelines.
Ø Facilitating clear communication and coordination with clients and project teams.
#Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Ø A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in an accredited Engineering program.
Ø Registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick (APEGNB).
Ø A minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed Professional Engineer.
Ø Strong expertise in building design, including wood, steel, and concrete structures.
Ø Proficiency in structural design software for steel, concrete, and wood structures.
Ø In-depth knowledge of building codes and regulations.
Ø Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ø Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ø Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Ø Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
