Description:
The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) is looking for a Sr. Specialist, Signature Event Operations to lead the planning and execution of key operational elements within its Signature Programs. This role involves coordinating with internal teams, sponsors, and suppliers to ensure smooth event execution, minimize risks, and enhance participant, volunteer, and sponsor experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and execute Signature Programs projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with fundraising objectives
Communicate program updates to teams, tracking changes that impact timelines and stakeholder expectations
Lead the incentive and fundraising rewards program to drive participation and engagement
Manage the Corporate Relay For Life event, ensuring sponsorship deliverables, volunteer leadership, and logistics are handled efficiently
Oversee the production, ordering, kitting, and shipping of event materials
Work with vendors to secure incentive prizes, rewards, and event merchandise
Develop and implement best practices for event operations, updating tools, schedules, and tracking documents
Lead the Run for the Cure E-store platform, managing production and marketing of event-related products
Analyze post-event survey data to inform strategic improvements in event execution
Contribute to justice, belonging, equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives within CCS
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in event management, business, or related fields
More than 3 years of experience in event operations or a similar role
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills to manage stakeholder expectations
Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities
High level of attention to detail, organization, and time management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Experience working with volunteers and fundraising events is an asset
Knowledge of Salesforce and Luminate Online is preferred
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and overnight travel
Work Conditions:
Hybrid work model with flexible office locations
May require occasional travel and extended hours during peak event times
