Description:

The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications will join a dynamic communications team and will be responsible for the implementation of proactive and strategic communications programs to increase awareness of the OpenText brand, providing internal and external communications advice and support to a number of key business units including HR, IT, Finance and Corporate Development. The successful candidate will create and execute communication strategies, programs, and tactics that will help drive awareness and engagement of the organization, playing a key role in telling the OpenText story and identifying unique opportunities to engage OpenText employees.

  • Producing strong, goal-oriented, and measurable internal & external communications programs that communicate a company’s leadership position within the Technology industry.
  • Writing and editing content including internal emails, press releases, thought leadership articles, social media posts and blogs.
  • Building relationships with members of the media to help increase engagement, generate media coverage and secure thought leadership opportunities that help to energize brand narratives.
  • Proactively assessing stories and news, analyzing issues and developing well thought-out solutions and messaging as part of our robust earned media strategy.
  • Working closely with business unit leaders to develop communication planning, messaging and presentations to help engage a wide employee base.
  • Develop and maintain channels of communication to help amplify corporate messaging and engage employees
  • Providing strategic and ongoing support for internal communications requests and programs for specific functions within the organizations, collaborating cross-functionally and working closely with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Leading global communications planning and execution for acquisition announcements and closings, acting as the global communications project manager and helping to write and review internal and external communication.

 


WHAT IT TAKES:

 


  • Bachelor's degree in Communications/Marketing, HR or related field, and 10+ years of relevant experience with a proven ability to execute, preferably in a technology environment
  • Previous internal communications experience working with functional business units such as HR & IT is an asset
  • A self-starter and someone who is comfortable working across several teams
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong and committed work ethic and the ability to work in a distributed but collaborative global team environment
  • Current knowledge of communications best practices and trends specifically relating to employee engagement and experience
  • Understanding of the news environment in the U.S. and Canada, and what journalists seek in a story
  • Excellent time management skills; highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Track results and apply key learnings to improve future communications, content and engagement
