Description:
The Digital Farming Business Development Representative will serve as an ambassador within and outside of the organization by participating in meetings and events with customers, retail agronomists and internal partners, such as AP sales reps and tech reps. This person will be on the frontlines and will be expected to capture ongoing customer feedback regarding the tools they sell to ensure that BASF can provide purposeful and intelligent digital farming tools. This role will work closely with the xarvio marketing team to execute marketing programs and other BASF sales representatives to follow up on customer leads.
Formula for Success: You Will…
- Work, sell and close deals with identified retail partners and follow-up on leads coming from the BASF field team. Work closely and in partnership with BASF sales and marketing team.
- Contribute to meet country level sales targets related to xarvio field manager.
- Proactively work with target customers and grow the awareness by attending key events focused on targeted retailers and growers.
- Work with customers to gain feedback, compile feedback and create actions with the team to improve or solve issues.
- Promote BASF Digital Farming products by speaking at meetings and events as required or requested.
- Participate as DF or xarvio representative at BASF tradeshow booths.
- Lead demonstration, training, and webinars of BASF Digital Farming tools and products as well as the training of BASF employees on BASF Digital Farming Tools.
- Maintain expert knowledge of platforms and tools with the ability to act as a representative as part of internal and external projects.
Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree in business or agriculture Sciences.
- 8 Years of experience in a Sales Role in the Agriculture Industry using their agronomic expertise to develop and strengthen business relationships.
- Experience within Digital Agriculture.
- Experience in agriculture retail considered an asset.
- Effective Communication skills and strong networking skills.
- Experience training or leading webinars.
- Knowledge of farming practices and equipment.
- Robust computer knowledge, including proficiency in MS Office Suites, with a strong inclination towards web-based applications and digital customer engagement tools.
- Strong collaborator within the organization and team.
