Key Responsibilities:
– Develop online content for the ISAP social media platforms and quarterly e-newsletter, and provide ongoing maintenance to the ISAP website to ensure it is up-to-date and relevant;
– Lead the implementation of the program’s communications plan by identifying, in cooperation with staff and like-minded organizations, the need for new or updated print and media products;
– Remain current on relevant issues in order to provide accurate information for media interviews (e.g. newspaper, magazine, radio, television, etc.);
– Share answering calls on the Invading Species Hotline, respond to information requests, and refer callers to other sources of information when necessary;
– Speak and conduct seminars, workshops, and presentations at various shows, meetings, conference, events, trade shows, etc. for audiences ranging from children to teenagers to adults;
– Attend trade shows, transport and set up of display and associated equipment/materials, staff the “Invading Species” display, answer the public’s questions and distribute literature, collect workshop registrations, and sell OFAH memberships; and
– Monitor activity on the ISAP’s social media accounts and respond (when appropriate) to comments and/or questions about invasive species.
