What you will do
- Design, develop and test software to specifications.
- Production support (includes 24x7 on call support).
- Provide consultation with the Systems Architect and Business Systems Analyst.
- Participate in project planning.
- Deliver code reviews and provide feedback relative to best practices.
- Coach and mentor teammates.
- Knowledge of software design, design methodologies, and design documentation tools.
- Knowledge of IT industry current trends.
What you will bring
- A degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a software developer role.
- Two or more of the following application development environment languages and tools: OnBase, SQL, .NET, HTML and APIs. Exposure to Change Management and file transfer tools would also be an asset.
- IT experience and the ability to understand and effectively work with legacy technologies and contribute as legacy applications evolve and are migrated to new platforms.
- Knowledge of Insurance business is an asset.
- Initiative with the ability to easily adapt to change.
- Excellent understanding of software design, methodologies and documentation standards.
- Proven commitment to customer service.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work both individually and as part of a team, plan and organize your own work, communicate effectively in writing and verbally in person or remotely, initiative, team-oriented leadership skills and attention to detail
