The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for all social media initiatives and outcomes for the GCA, Foundation and Sonderly. This includes developing the enterprise social media plan and calendar, creating & managing content and executing initiatives across key social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and emerging channels (e.g. Twitter etc). The Specialist will provide advice and counsel on social media tools/workflow and industry trends/ products, identify, and implement KPI metrics and provide regular reporting to assess social media performance.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for implementing a social media content strategy that includes but not limited to:

  • Assist in the development and execute a social media strategy that seeks to grow the GCA Brand through client insights, research, and stakeholder analysis.
  • Collaborate across the GCA to build and implement a robust social marketing calendar
  • Identify and implement tactics to drive key social media outcomes such as followers, awareness, engagement, and organic site traffic.
  • Develop and implement a process to monitor and address comments, in consultation with internal SMEs as required, in a time sensitive manner.
  • Create engaging, insightful original content and curate relevant additional content to help drive positive conversations, advocacy for ASD, our programming, mission, vision and values.
  • Creates social media posts that support marketing campaigns, program launches, Sonderly products etc.
  • Identify opportunities to include social media platforms in the client experience.
  • Create and manage social media campaign and paid ads
  • Track and measure social media performance through data analytics and reporting.
  • Monitor and report on social media trends within the ASD community.
  • Draft marketing briefs and work closely with Creative team to produce marketing assets
  • Utilizes social media tools such as geo-targeting and language specifications to increase post performance and reach.
  • Stays on top of current social trends, new features and competitor analysis
  • Acts as key contact for all platforms and tools needed for social media
  • Executing channel strategies Instagram, Twitter, Facebook etc, including new and emerging platforms
  • Create and curate content, including photos, made-for-social graphics, post copy, video, UGC content, and more.
  • Post content on platform and measure the results of social marketing activity

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-year related work experience
  • Degree or diploma in relevant field or combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Must be organized and practice effective time management
  • Graphic design experience is a plus (Photoshop, Canva, Lightroom, etc.)
  • Experience with email marketing tools, such as MailChimp
  • Exceptional ability to prioritize, problem solve and respond to urgent situations while consistently meeting competing deadlines.
  • Must have excellent written communication skills and the ability to write a diverse array of messages that are nuanced, inspiring, or any number of objectives as required.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, and best practices for content development and community engagement across a variety of channels.
  • Ability to research, conduct data gathering and gap analysis on existing communication strategies
  • Proven ability in integrating digital communication tactics into communication planning, including SharePoint sites, knowledge management platforms, websites, social media platforms, blogs, podcasts, and video elements.
  • Understanding of SEO and digital marketing analytics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and with others as a team.
  • An understanding of principles and conceptual issues of ABA an asset.
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum and the clinical applications, mental health theories, adult education, family systems theory, child and family act, along with management theories and practices an asset.
  • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and data management systems
  • Satisfactory current Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check.
  • Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19
