Description:
Works under the direction of the Executive Producer to produce engaging online content that showcases CPAC’s flagship shows.
Primary Responsibilities:
- In accordance with CPAC’s editorial priorities and principles: select, edit, package, post & optimize content for social media platforms.
- Monitor interviews and news sources to identify appropriate content for publication as digital-first video and/or social media posts.
- Research and write descriptions and other metadata for social media posts & captions.
- Work with the Executive Producer to ensure all editorial content meets CPAC’s journalistic and technical standards.
- Track, compile, analyze & report on social media engagement metrics.
Qualifications (knowledge, skills and experience required):
- A degree or diploma in journalism, TV production or related discipline plus two years of comparable/relevant media experience.
- A strong understanding of journalism practices and news broadcast standards.
- Fully bilingual in English and French (written & spoken).
- Advanced knowledge of social media & digital platforms.
- Excellent research, writing and editing skills.
- Ability to work to exacting standards & meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and weekends as required.
- Proven ability to increase online presence and social media offering.
- A keen interest in politics.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Independent, self-motivated, and versatile.
- Must upgrade technical skills as required.
