POSITION OVERVIEW
Are you passionate about entrepreneurship and want to contribute to the success of small and medium-sized businesses across Canada? BDC is looking for a Senior Writer to create compelling B2B content that informs, equips and inspires entrepreneurs in managing their business successfully.
A key member of the Content Marketing team, the Senior Writer will collaborate with a team of marketing and communications professionals and subject matter experts across BDC to create thought leadership content that helps entrepreneurs scale up their companies, builds brand awareness and positions BDC as an expert on entrepreneurship.
The ideal candidate must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment driven by teamwork, creativity and results. If you have proven communication and interpersonal skills and can turn complex business topics into clear and engaging content, then this role is for you.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Research, write and edit high-quality articles, eBooks, blogs, client stories and other editorial content for the “Articles and Tools” section of BDC.ca and other communications channels.
Contribute to the production of high-quality thought leadership content (economic research or white papers) and create value-added editorial content (infographics, summaries, webinars, etc.) to communicate BDC research results.
Collaborate in the creation of content strategies for specific BDC business lines or projects to drive website traffic, generate leads and build brand awareness (e.g., BDC Small Business Week).
Provide editorial support for the development and implementation of marketing campaigns, collaborating with senior leaders, industry experts, marketing professionals and digital channel experts.
Collaborate with business lines and corporate functions to research and recommend clients to be featured in external communication initiatives.
Work with internal stakeholders (linguistic services, brand and creative services, Web and digital experience, public relations, etc.) to ensure smooth content creation, publication, and promotion.
Help improve our content creation and content marketing best practices to meet BDC editorial guidelines.
Stay on top of the latest news and economic trends affecting small and medium-sized businesses as well as entrepreneurs’ preferred modes and channels of communication.
Oversee the work of external resources when required.
