Description:
As part of our technology transformation journey, Manulife Bank is looking for a Senior Technical Product Owner to be a part of the Technology Platforms and Architecture team in Manulife Bank. The Technology Platforms value stream supports all engineering platforms and assets in Manulife Bank, and completes initiatives that address ongoing platform health and future resiliency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing thought leadership, technical product direction, and support to multiple teams in the Technology Platforms value stream in Manulife Bank.
Key Accountabilities:
- Drive the strategy, planning, and delivery of key capabilities for the Technology Platforms value stream.
- Act as the voice of the customer in the definition of platform requirements, mandates, achievements, and associated technical roadmaps.
- Collaborate with the lead product owner, the release train engineer, solution architects, engineering leadership, platform and site reliability engineers, and various technology platforms partners to accelerate delivery of new value.
- Prioritize and support the sequencing of work collaborating with technical program managers, and engineering asset managers.
- Track progress against roadmaps and plan, leverage data and metrics to inform decisions
- Apply proactive problem-solving to address challenges and partner concerns. Balance competing priorities while adhering to deadlines and aligning teams with value demands.
- Demonstrate a passion for and communicate the technical vision for technology platforms and services, that address both engineering needs and business capabilities.
- Identify and institute standard processes leading to architectural and engineering excellence. Help institute superior technology capabilities with diligence and technical intuition.
- Follow and inform the architecture governance practices.
- Work closely with the broader divisional architecture teams for alignment of technology requirements, capabilities and adoption, and encapsulate the same into technical roadmaps.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Pragmatism is essential to this role with strong communication capabilities and a collaborative approach with both business and technical partners.
- The candidate will have a strong tie to the cross-divisional architecture groups and global domain architects for alignment of technology requirements, capabilities and adoption.
- A strong background in hands-on Engineering and Architecture, and a desire to learn the Bank’s business and technology landscape.
- Knowledge or experience with Cloud based architectures, API gateways, Devops, Test Automation
- Good track record of dealing with complex customized solutions requiring creative & complex investigations and evaluations of alternative architectural solutions
- Experience leading and collaborating across teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions
- Collaborative attitude, willingness to work with team members; able to coach, participate in code reviews, share skills and methods.
- Exposure to modern engineering practices and modern technology stacks
- Familiarity with Enterprise Java, WebSphere, and .NET technology stacks.
- Superior verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes
