Description:
Reporting to the Director, Security Awareness & Training, the role of Senior Security Change Management and Awareness Lead will be responsible for the development and execution of change management and communications strategies that support business units during the transition of security initiatives and to help achieve business outcomes and improve client, advisor, and employee experience.
The essential functions and responsibilities of this job position include, but are not limited to the following:
Change Management
- Design and execute an adaptive change management plan across multiple levels in the organization applying change management principles to assess impact of change and readiness for change
- Implement and maintain a holistic change management and communication plan to align and ensure appropriate sequencing to introduce change that minimizes disruption and maximizes adoption and business impact.
- Develop strong relationships with business and Security, Risk and Compliance partners and recommend the right change management approach and tactics that help them achieve business objectives.
- Inform key stakeholders on change management strategies and support a unified approach/process across Sun Life audiences.
- Drive the creation of Change Management strategies and plans together with Business Leaders and the different cross-functional program teams to assess change impact to the business, realize faster adoption, build user knowledge and proficiency, and manage resistance
- Support business units during the transition to help achieve business outcomes and improve client, advisor, and employee experience; track change adoption and revise Change Management strategies as required to meet transformation objectives
- Support creation of program plans, communication plans, training and coaching plans; Together with program managers, ensure that change activities are considered in the transformation program timeline and budget, as well as in readiness checks prior to implementation
Communication and Training
- Develop and facilitate clear and engaging communications that are aligned to the Security, Risk and Compliance vision and story, leveraging a variety of channels, formats, and topics
- Identify training and education opportunities to further support the change management plan
- Define actionable deliverables for sponsorship, communications, training, resistance management, and ongoing monitoring of implemented changes.
- Work across the organization to identify success stories and learnings as a result of transformation and develop appropriate assets for sharing such stories

Position Requirements and Qualifications:
- 5+ years in a Change or Communications role
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Organizational Leadership, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and experience delivering training sessions preferred
- Experience developing, supporting and executing change management plans and communication strategies for large initiatives
- Balance in practical execution, strategic thinking along with hands on experience to take broad perspectives
- Strong facilitating, influencing, and relationship management skills in partnering with peers and senior leaders towards cultural change and introduction of new concepts
- Strong business acumen with ability to use data to inform decision making
- Ability to empathize and take different stakeholder lens
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with a variety of communications tools, including Office Suite, Workplace (or other internal communication platforms), and Zoom
- Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
- Change Management certification or designation such as Prosci Certification, Association of Change Manage Professional (ACMP) or Change Management Institute (CMI) preferred, or equivalent experience
