Description:
Akkodis is seeking a Senior R&D Software Manager for a client in the medical industry. This role involves leading a team of software and firmware engineers working on Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) technology. The ideal candidate will be a strong technical leader with experience in software/firmware development, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of engineers focused on software and firmware development.
- Oversee the full development lifecycle ensuring compliance with industry standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with senior technical leaders, project managers, and cross-functional teams to align on project goals.
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, and resource allocation.
- Identify and troubleshoot performance and schedule issues to ensure project success.
- Ensure the design process incorporates critical aspects such as patient safety, clinical practice, product performance, and manufacturability.
- Provide clear technical communication and updates to stakeholders.
- Foster a high-performance team culture through motivation, guidance, and coaching.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Certifications:
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or a relevant field.
Technical Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years of experience leading software/firmware teams.
- Strong background in C/C++, embedded systems, and RTOS.
- Experience with hardware/software integration.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a regulated industry (medical devices preferred).
- Strong understanding of design validation, usability testing, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in medical device development, from concept to product launch.
- Knowledge of electrophysiology, cardiac rhythm management, or structural heart technology.
- Familiarity with IEC 60601 standards for medical devices.
