Description:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for:
- Manages cross-functional, government and/or health projects to meet the project objectives within quality, time and budget targets.
- Applies project management methodologies for initiation, planning, execution, tracking change control, and close-out.
- Oversees all aspects of project management including: scope, cost, schedule, issues, risks, procurement, change management, and contractual deliverables.
- Leads the design, testing, planning and implementation of complex projects for systems that typically affect many users and cross government and health integrations. This position is also required to manage smaller projects, sometimes supervising the work of internal programmers, analysts, system designers and consultant teams.
- Supervises, sets priorities and monitors efficiency of a project team including but not limited to system administrators, technical architects, specialists, analysts, and technical support. Resources could be CSDS, external consultants, etc.
- Develops and maintains effective and collaborative business relationships with stakeholders and business partners to effectively manage projects ensuring understanding of client needs and support of efficient resolution of client enquiries and concerns.
- Tracks, monitors and communicates project progress to clients, stakeholders, directors and governing bodies against the project plan, requirements, quality measures, standard processes, and milestones to ensure awareness of the evolution of projects.
- Coordinates the input, support, and communication with all functional areas that impact project scope, business value, risk, and resource requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
As the Senior Project Manager, you will have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science plus five (5) years related experience; or graduation from a recognized Information Technology Program plus five (5) years and six (6) months related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.
You also must have proven experience in the following:
- Extensive project management experience in leading and managing large, complex product/service delivery and/or solution implementation projects;
- Knowledge and experience in project management methodology (e.g. PMBOK), digital service design and delivery and agile methodologies;
- Experience helping teams to manage outcomes, prioritize work and work to agreed minimum viable product (MVP) scope;
- Managing several projects concurrently involving multi-disciplinary teams of various sizes;
- Motivate and manage diverse teams of both internal and external business and technical specialists;
- Superior interpersonal and team building skills with the ability to interact effectively and develop strong relationships with staff at all levels;
- Facilitation, negotiation, and acting as a liaison with large client and stakeholder teams, including executive and senior management teams within and across client organizations;
- Problem solving, analytical thinking and decision making, and managing complex and competing needs;
- Organizing workloads, multitasking, and adaptable to ever changing priorities;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
