Senior Platform Engineer

Description:

Megaport is seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Platform Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer to join their Platform Engineering Team. In this role, you will be a champion for DevOps culture and best practices, working across teams in multiple time zones to ensure systems are secure, reliable, and efficient. Your role will combine technical expertise with proactive communication to stakeholders, delivering innovative solutions that drive customer success.

This is a fully remote opportunity, open to candidates based in Canada, Texas, or North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and drive Platform Engineering initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Linux systems administration and infrastructure experience.
• Proven ability to design robust technical solutions.
• Strong focus on automation and infrastructure as code, including automated testing.
• Agile mindset with strong collaborative skills.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Bash and either Python or Go (or similar languages).
• Experience with Terraform or Ansible for configuration management.
• Familiarity with CI platforms and revision control systems (GitHub or GitLab preferred).
• Understanding of observability tools (MELT: Metrics, Events, Logs, Traces).
• Proven track record of continuous professional development.
