Promote safety as a core value in their approach to design and execution of work in their area. Champion a focus on Process Safety in design and operation; including as a key stakeholder in PSE response.
Primary accountability for all key aspects of the P&L for geographic area of responsibility, including production, operating costs, and operations capital. In close collaboration with area Foreman, drive optimized business and safety performance and realization of business plan objectives and targets.
Provide technical infrastructure, design and process engineering support to the operation. This includes hydraulic pipeline modelling, compressor evaluations, control valve sizing and process modelling.
Perform wellbore troubleshooting and oversee interventions required to support wellbore optimization. This will include preparing cost estimates, artificial lift design and writing programs for execution of routine interventions.
Provide engineering support for repairs, mechanical alterations, utilization of alternate products or materials and new equipment installations as the primary stakeholder in the Management of Change (MOC) process.
Accountable for project technical scoping, design, cost estimating, and economic analysis across geographic area of responsibility. Prepare and present project justification material to an integrated team to ensure alignment of opportunity with corporate initiatives and budgets. Execute projects with prudent financial administration, including initiating AFE approval, monitoring project spend, accurate monthly accruals, and providing timely communication of deviations from budget.
Engage other key stakeholders (including Finance, Joint Venture, Production Revenue Accounting, and Commercial) and apply insight into monthly business performance, identifying and implementing opportunities to optimize area value.
Resolve maintenance and operational issues by providing project scoping, feasibility, constructability, and preliminary cost estimating.
Provide direction and design interpretations for piping, pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, exchangers, compressors and other mechanical equipment.
Interpret and apply corporate specifications, governing Codes (e.g.: ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, CSA Z662, API), Acts, Regulations and recommended practices
Foster collaborative environment with field personnel to develop and implement engineered solutions to maintenance and operational issues.
Maintain regulatory compliance on wellbores, pipelines and facilities. This includes but is not limited to: inactive well, pipeline, and facility compliance, pipeline & facility licensing, GHG monitoring and compliance considerations.
Routinely interface with the Integrated Operations Center (IOC) to understand common well problems and drive value optimization.
Provide key inputs to resource development plans and new drill campaigns including optimized wellbore, artificial lift and facility design, operating cost assumptions, and non-well infrastructure requirements.
Steward efficient execution and onstream of new well programs.
Provide mentorship to less experienced engineering staff. Encourage culture of knowledge sharing across Conventional Operations Engineering.
