Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Partnerships this role is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewardship activities for corporate funding partners.
This role will develop and implement strategies to raise corporate gifts, cultivate existing donors, and contribute to the planning and implementation of organizational activities to maximize corporate giving. This role will also lead the stewardship and activation of a portfolio of corporate partnerships.
With a specific focus on new revenue generation and partnership/pipeline development, the incumbent’s estimated fundraising target annually is $1 million, while supporting the overall activities and goals of the Corporate and Development team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
New & Existing Business Development: (60%)
Initiate and secure corporate partnerships focusing on partnerships with a minimum value of 25,000 annually
Establish partner opportunities with corporations that assist with achieving fundraising goals, building brand awareness, and that align with the Development Strategy
Proactively identify opportunities for growth and expansion within existing relationships
Proactively identify and develop prospects and opportunities that will input into new business goals
Secure meaningful meetings/calls with companies across a range of sectors
Develop compelling proposals, reports, and presentations for prospective new partners that align with their core business/CSR objectives
Ensuring employee fundraising potential is maximized throughout each partnership with proactive promotion of employee giving and participation in Jack.org major events
Develop engagement plans to reach decision makers at a range of prospects, utilizing senior leadership, Board members and, where appropriate, foster CEO to CEO relationships
Support the development of the prospect pipeline and tracking moves management to meet forecasting activities annually and long-term planning
Collaborate with other fundraising and operational channels to execute strategies for revenue generation
Donor Cultivation and Stewardship (30%)
Identify, grow and serve as lead relationship manager for a portfolio of 50+ corporate partners and prospects.
Secure one-on-one in-person donor meetings to establish or strengthen donor commitments to long-term support.
Move the prospects through a moves management process toward participation in one or more of Jack.org fundraising initiatives/campaigns related to corporate partners (Employee Giving, Donation, Sponsorships, Corporate Teams at Major Events).
Work with other Development and Content/Communications staff to ensure the availability of appropriate cultivation and stewardship tools for use with corporate partners and prospects.
Design, develop and implement strategies unique to each individual prospect or donor that further fundraising or brand awareness objectives.
Collaborate with other members of the Development team to organize and execute a donor cultivation and recognition event
Represent Jack.org at meetings and events through public speaking, presentations and where appropriate public relations activities.
Planning and Administration (10%)
Support Manager in the annual budget and planning process.
Support the development and execution of organizational priority campaigns and initiatives.
Engage, brief and prepare senior staff where appropriate.
Maintain an up-to-date and deep knowledge of Jack.org programs, leadership and projects for discussion with donors and prospects.
Ensure that the Salesforce database is kept updated with accurate information on major donors and campaign prospects for weekly reporting.
Desired skills, competencies
Three (3+) plus years’ of relevant work experience in fundraising or sales in the corporate or not–for–profit sector
A post-secondary degree or diploma with a focus in fundraising, marketing, sales, or other applicable disciplines
Solutions-focused and results-oriented, with experience in successfully managing all aspects of corporate partnerships.
A successful track-record of account management that is organized, detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
Experience and expertise in writing and editing proposals that are both logical and engaging.
Emotional intelligence, including the ability to read people and situations, as well as high levels of self-awareness and compassion
Excellent natural relationship-building/management skills both internally and externally
Proven experience in leading and managing cultivation and stewardship events.
Demonstrated experience in independent prospect pipeline development
Ability to think strategically and work independently in driving new initiatives or enhancing existing programs.
The ability to work independently in a hybrid environment while at the same time ensuring collaboration and teamwork.
A creative approach to cultivation and stewardship.
Superior verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking.
Financial literacy and comfort working with financial data and budgets.
Experience with Salesforce or relational databases and donor database report tracking to ensure appropriate prospect/donor documentation.
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, G-Suite)
