Senior Mobile Developer

You will be supporting the vision of helping Canadians live healthier lives, by guiding Mobile agile teams build the largest network of health resources in Canada.

You will have an overall responsibility to guide technical design and collaborate with business partners across the organization to understand their needs. You will work closely with our software engineers in making those visions come to life. You will support, guide, and inspire our software engineering team to reach new goals and heights.

The Mobile Platform team is looking for a Senior Mobile Developer with at least 5 years of Ionic Framework experience. The successful candidate will have strong technical and problem-solving and mentoring skills and will show initiative, be accountable for results.

As a Senior Mobile Developer, you will play a critical role in creating and maintaining hybrid mobile applications using Ionic React. You will also be responsible for developing Capacitor plugins.

What will you do?

• Utilize Ionic UI framework to create high-quality hybrid mobile applications.
• Create capacitor plugins to integrate native components into Ionic mobile applications.
• Write unit test and UI test cases for hybrid mobile applications and Capacitor plugins to ensure product quality.
• Collaborate with the Mobile Principal Tech Lead in building a hybrid development strategy, to apply to our mobile applications globally.
• Support the Mobile Practice in building a training strategy for our mobile platform developers.
• Contribute to the modernization of our hybrid development approach, staying up to date with industry best practices and technologies.
• Mentor and provide support to colleagues, fostering their professional growth and capabilities in Ionic development.
• Identify defects in services, debug and provide effective solutions to resolve the defects in a timely manner.
• Continuously improve and enhance our tools and development processes to streamline development and ensure efficiency.

Your background and skills

What you need to succeed

• Post secondary Computer Science diploma or degree.
• 5+ years of experience in the Ionic framework
• Proven experience in developing hybrid mobile applications using Ionic UI framework.
• 4+ years of experience in mobile development, including iOS and Android development in a hybrid tech stack.
• Good knowledge of Cordova / Capacitor.
• Expert knowledge of React.
• Expert knowledge of Typescript.
• Expert knowledge of JavaScript.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to hybrid mobile development.
• Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide.
