Senior Manager, It Strategy

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager, IT Strategy.

Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Digital Technology, this position is responsible for creating, managing and supporting a range of IT strategies, and development and planning initiatives; performing specific assessments and investigations on a range of strategic matters; and develop and leverage supporting internal and external networks and relationships to drive OPG’s IT strategic direction.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Develop and execute IT strategic plans that align with OPG's overall business strategy, vision, and goals
• Research and development of emerging technologies to understand their applicability and scalability within OPG.
• Lead cross-functional teams to evaluate emerging technologies and identify trends that can be leveraged to drive innovation and competitiveness
• Define and oversee the delivery of IT initiatives that address business needs, including software applications, cloud implementation, infrastructure, and data management
• Engage with executive-level stakeholders to provide clarity on IT strategy and its alignment with business goals
• Foster collaboration across departments, developing and maintaining strong working relationships with Business Units, technical teams, vendors and other external partners
• Ensure that OPG's technology architecture is scalable and flexible to support the changing needs of the business.
• Develop and maintain IT policies, standards, procedures and ensure compliance with legislative and other requirements concerning IT.
• Help support change management activities in order to align the strategic direction, including aiding in portfolio planning, future investments, infrastructure upgrades, upskilling and gap analyses, and culture changes.
• Develop and mentor IT personnel, enhancing performance and skill set of IT team.
