Description:
This is an office-based position based at our office in downtown, Calgary, AB.
Responsibilities:
- Long range planning submissions and executive presentation of IT budgets to the Cenovus Leadership Team
- Perform SAP transactions and queries as required
- Model show back to the IT Business streams
- Coordinate the financial planning cycles including collection, consolidation, preparation, and maintenance of financial models
- Reporting on compliance of financial processes within assigned functional area
- Ensure financial practices are followed and adhered to
- Identify key risks and opportunities to budgets and / or forecasts
- Provide timely and accurate periodic reporting such as actual performance versus planned / forecast expectations and prior period performance
- Build periodic and ad hoc reports including business unit reports that capture key financial measures of success
- Contribute to the identification and implementation of IT financial solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness by eliminating, simplifying, and automating processes
- QA of financial portion of business case submissions
- Ownership and maintenance of financial portion of business case template
- Steward IT chargeback/allocation mechanisms
- Ensure that the metrics used to evaluate performance are properly tied to business outcomes and bias-free and that the associated communications around these metrics are clear.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7+ years of leadership and IT financial management experience
- Must have experience with advanced financial and business transactions and translating complicated financial concepts into business practices
- Partnering with IT to streamline and automate processes
- Technology experience & competence is a strong asset
- Ability to focus on investing in areas that will provide the greatest growth opportunities for the Company
- Strategic planner who creates value for customers
- Provides recommendations including risks
- In-depth experience in evaluating products or services from multiple vendors
- Has developed vendor selection criteria and requirements
- Able to conduct and summarize an interview with current users in the marketplace
