A day in the life of the Senior Manager, Payments.
The payments landscape is rapidly changing and we are looking for your help to make it happen. Are you excited about the future of real-time payments and open banking? Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager, Payments, is responsible for:
Keeping up to date on the latest developments with Payments Canada and Real-Time Rails and creating the strategy for implementation at Capital One Canada
Connecting with internal partners and industry peers to understand payment trends and innovations
Oversight of the payments process team, including ensuring payments are processed on time and accurately each day.
Oversight of the disbursements process team, including ensuring funds are disbursed and escheatment processes are executed.
Managing payment fraud risk, including implementing payment hold rules, defenses and models.
At least 5 years of experience in a payments role.
Payments specific knowledge (e.g., at a bank, fintech or payment network), including understanding of payment systems in Canada, such as the Automated Clearing Settlement System (ACSS).
A bachelor’s degree or higher.
Experience in payment fraud, such as cheque, bank, wire or other payment fraud. General fraud experience is also an asset.
People leadership experience.
Process management experience, such as Lean or Six Sigma.
