Senior Manager

Description:

Bachelor’s degree in business, political science, public administration, public relations, public administration, or a related field with relevant experience.
Five or more years of progressive experience working in; government relations, stakeholder relations, public affairs, or a public policy development function.
Previous experience building integrated and strategic government and stakeholder relations plans for complex, highly regulated and growing organizations similar in scope or size to OPG.
Three years of experience working in a legislature/parliament or in a position where you directly worked with parliamentarians/elected officials in an advocacy or advisory role.
Experience working with various levels of government. Must have a strong understanding of how the government works, the legislative processes, government procedures, government decision-making, issues management and their risk implications.
Strong interpersonal skills: ability to cultivate, develop and maintain productive working relationships across the business with various stakeholders, including (government officials, industry associations and industry partners) necessary to effectively act as an OPG representative.
In-depth knowledge of government decision-making at both political and civil service levels.
Previous experience developing strategic government relations and stakeholder plans that align with the business's objectives.
Progressive experience leading or driving a strategic initiative or program; where you have managed and coordinated events; work collaboratively with various audiences and stakeholders. Experience developing and implementing outreach programs and strategies.
Experience in project management and planning, managing overarching schedules, and implementing multiple simultaneous projects and programs.
Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to clearly communicate with a wide audience; experience presenting to internal stakeholders such as senior and executive management and externally to the government, public, industry partners, other businesses, and shareholders.
A passion for building industry and business interest, meaningful partnerships, participation, or sponsorships.
Previous management experience effectively leading, influencing, training and motivating a small team of professionals and others who are not direct reports.
