Description:
The Senior Lease Administrator performs a variety of analytical duties necessary to control occupancy costs, ensure lease compliance, resolve contentious landlord/tenant issues and reporting responsibilities to support Business Unit and Functional Area initiatives. This role is an 18 month contract position.
Office location is 1303 Yonge Street, Toronto. This is a hybrid position (3 days in the office per week).
Key Responsibilities
- Review landlord invoices and Lease Administrators’ analyses and data entry to ensure accuracy and lease compliance
- Oversee tenant estoppel certificate preparation and review.
- Draft lease extension letters
- Manage quarterly occupancy accrual process to ensure accuracy
- Analyze and resolve landlord statements of account
- Review and interpret lease provisions to resolve disputes with landlord/tenant responsibility.
- Maintain and update various Excel reports based on lease and rent data.
- Provide support to Real Estate and Legal as required.
Education & Certification
Experience
- 5-7 years of Lease Administration experience
- Reading commercial leases
- Experience with PeopleSoft (or similar property management software) and Power BI reporting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Basic accounting knowledge.
- Thorough understanding of occupancy costs (CAM, property taxes, utilities and percentage rent).
- Intermediate MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Organized, professional with an ability to multi-task and have exceptional time management skills.
- Works well under pressure and is committed to meeting deadlines.
