Senior Land Representative

 

Description:

The Senior Landowner Liaison will be responsible for negotiating access to land, ensuring various land use permits have been obtained, settling land and crop loss damages, all with a focus on fostering stakeholder relationships. This individual will be a key point of contact across the company and is expected to interface with internal team members and external consultants.

 

A typical day:

  • Negotiate temporary workspaces and access agreements/ permits. Prepare and submit applications
  • Engage with landowners and key stakeholders regularly and respond to inquiries and interests in a prompt and consistent manner pertaining to pipeline operations and related matters.
  • Track and maintain communication log for all third-party interactions including but not limited to stakeholder notifications for pipeline operations and in support of the public awareness program.
  • Collaboratively engage with multiple business units to provide land and damage prevention related support, balancing multiple competing priorities.
  • Support risk-mitigation and the resolution of new and legacy issues to foster stakeholder relationships and ensure adherence to the companies standards and policies.

 

Successful candidates will have:

  • Must be bilingual (French & English).
  • Candidates must have an Oil & Gas background.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record is required.
  • Post-secondary education in related field of property, real estate, legal. Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in geography, urban planning, real estate, or business-related discipline.
  • Real Estate License, IRWA SR/WA designation is preferred
  • Understanding of legal issues related to land acquisition and easements for pipeline operations required
  • Interpret legal plans, land title documents, easement documents and technical drawings required
  • Proven conflict resolution, planning, problem solving, decision making and negotiating skills including the ability to influence in sensitive situations required
  • Preferred Working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations including Canadian Energy Regulator Act, Damage Prevention Regulations, and CSA Z662
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
