Senior Interior Designer

Description:

Micieli Design is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Interior Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years of experience in interior design, with significant expertise in both commercial and luxury residential projects. This role requires a creative visionary who excels in developing and executing high-level design concepts from inception to completion, in a client-facing capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the conceptualization, development, and execution of interior design concepts from inception to completion.

- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to seamlessly integrate interior design requirements into overall project objectives.

- Conduct client meetings and presentations to gather requirements, communicate design concepts, and obtain feedback.

- Produce high-quality design deliverables, including sketches, renderings, mood boards, material palettes, and detailed construction drawings.

- Develop project fees, create interior design approaches and methodologies, and assemble compelling proposals with an understanding of building costs.

- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in interior design, integrating relevant innovations into project designs.

- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards in all design solutions.

- Develop detailed design and construction document drawings for assigned projects in conformance with requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria.

- Exercise sound judgment in assessing problem situations or complex design issues and use effective approaches to develop appropriate solutions.

- Understand the use of requisitions and the role of materials management, reviewing and advising on purchase orders and subcontracts.

- Possess intermediate knowledge of cost estimating methods and perform thorough and accurate material take-offs.

- Advise the Interior Design Director/Leader on the status of assignments with respect to schedule, budgets, delays, and any adverse issues.

- Assist with the planning and scheduling of design tasks associated with assigned projects.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

- Bachelor of Interior Design or Bachelor of Applied Interior Design from a CIDA accredited university.

- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in interior design.

- NCIDQ Certification is required.

- Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 10+ years of experience in interior design within a multi-disciplinary firm.

- Well Certification or knowledge of Well principles.

- LEED Certification or knowledge of LEED principles.

- Proficient in Color Theory.

- Proficient in Autodesk products, including AutoCAD and Revit.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Familiarity with 3D rendering software.

- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.

- Maintains a large network of suppliers and vendors.
