Senior Financial Analyst

Description:

Responsible for the financial administration, management, and coordination of existing programs delivered by the client department and Offices.

Provides direction and support on matters relating to the interpretation of financial policy, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and Public Sector Accounting Board Standards (PSAB)

Responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely financial information as needed, including annual budgets, year-end and reporting requirements, monthly forecasts, and other financial planning advice and analysis.

Leads special projects and interdepartmental committees with other departmental staff, client agencies, and outside consultants as required.

Qualifications and Experience

This may be the right opportunity for you if you have Hgh School completion with 3 years post-secondary professional accounting training with six years of related experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or enrollment in a CPA program will be considered an asset.

Knowledge and experience of the corporate financial management system (SAP) or similar applications are considered assets.

You are detail-oriented, decisive, and guided by generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and PSAB standards while applying an innovative approach to your work. You are proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. You possess strong analytical, communication (verbal and written), partnering and relationship-building skills, and intercultural and diversity proficiency. You have strong time management skills and can prioritize work and resources to meet strict deadlines.
