As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will report directly to the Controller and work closely with the entire business and finance team. You will focus on preparing financial reports, planning, and budgeting and automation of business operations. The position requires an appreciation for entrepreneurship without large corporate infrastructure. You will bring your speciality in finance to conduct business analytics, automation, create meaningful dashboards and reports that managers can count on to support corporate decision-making.

The Objectives of this Role

Lead accurate and timely month and year-end analysis, inventory costing, budgeting, and forecasting, and include involvement in special cross-functional projects.
Highlight opportunities for business performance and corporate spend improvements by performing in-depth analysis and preparing management presentations.
Work with business partners to better understand operational requirements and to determine potential opportunities and impact on operational scope and objectives.
Assess company marketing and sales data to assess trends and impact on business strategy and production.
What You’ll Do

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Lead the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Own the Corporate planning model and collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and insights for financial planning purposes. Provide strategic financial guidance to support decision-making processes.
Profit and Loss (P&L) Analysis: Generate detailed profit and loss analyses for various business units, products, and projects. Identify key drivers impacting profitability and recommend actions to improve financial performance. Collaborate closely with the accounting team to establish and streamline processes and systems, ensuring efficient and accurate reporting structures. This includes continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Strategic Business Unit Reviews: Perform in-depth assessments of business units to assess their alignment with profitability metrics and objectives. Identify any discrepancies or deviations from established profitability standards and implement action plan in collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure accounts are brought back in line to profitability goals.
Pricing and Promotional Review: Analyze pricing strategies and promotional campaigns to assess their impact on revenue and profitability. Provide recommendations for pricing adjustments and promotional enhancements.
Operational Finance: Analyze operational data to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies. Work closely with operational teams to develop and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Ad Hoc Projects: Lead and participate in ad hoc financial projects, which may include market analysis, retail account evaluations, and process improvements. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support project decision-making.
Financial Evaluation:
Evaluate the financial performance of new product launches, business expansions, and investment opportunities. Develop financial models to assess potential risks and returns.
Who You Are

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis or a related financial role.
A strong desire to continue career growth in the operations, supply chain and manufacturing industry handling inventory.
Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial models/tools.
Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI is an asset.
Strong proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and a fast learner
Ability to interpret and present complex financial data.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of BI Dashboards such as Tableau, Qilk is an asset
Knowledge of ERP systems similar to Netsuite is an asset

Strong ability to prioritize to meet tight and conflicting deadlines
