Senior Data Architect

Description:

Our client is embarking on a large-scale Data & AI transformation initiative. A core part of this transformation is the development of an enterprise Data Platform, serving as the foundation for data ingestion, storage, processing, and visualization. This platform will support both internal and external enterprise clients, incorporating solutions for data quality, marketplaces, and governance.

The Senior Data Architect will play a key role in designing and implementing modern cloud-based data solutions and ensuring the platform aligns with business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with stakeholders to gather business, functional, and system requirements.

• Develop data architecture and high-level design for various data solutions.

• Lead or assist in technology evaluations for enterprise-wide data platforms.

• Support the creation of detailed designs and project plans.

• Serve as the architect for various data-driven projects, providing technical leadership.

• Lead or support data governance initiatives to ensure data quality and compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education in a data & AI-related field.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect.

• Hands-on experience with modern cloud data technologies.

• Strong data modeling and data development skills.

• Experience with data-related development tools and coding languages.

• Strong problem-solving and conceptualization abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience working in Agile and traditional project management environments.

• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

• Ability to work in fast-paced, data-driven environments.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with large-scale distributed systems with multiple stakeholders.

• Expertise in Azure Cloud Tools, Databricks, Data Lake, and Data Modeling.

Job Type & Work Conditions:

• Contract: 1 year + extension option.

• Start Date: 2-3 weeks.

• Hybrid work setup (Toronto-based candidates preferred).
