Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to join our client. The ideal candidate will have expertise in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure management, and a proven track record of working with one of the major cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP. Proficiency in automation tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI is essential. Experience in engineering platforms for scalable, highly available payments or fraud systems on the cloud is a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI to automate building, testing, and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of platform services into workflows.
- Architect and implement platform solutions to support highly available and scalable applications, with a focus on payments and fraud systems as needed.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure performance, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resource utilization.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent.
- Stay updated on the latest cloud technologies, industry best practices, and emerging trends to drive continuous improvement.
- Advocate for and implement robust security and compliance measures within the cloud infrastructure.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in platform engineering and cloud infrastructure management.
- Proficiency in one or more cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
- Expertise in building scalable, highly available platforms, preferably in the payments or fraud domain.
- Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, cloud security, and cost optimization strategies.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
