Description:
As a member of the Finance Operations team reporting to the Director, Finance Initiative and Portfolio Management, the Senior Business Analyst will perform a key role in the ongoing management of the Finance initiative portfolio management process and function. A ‘project portfolio management office’ is being established to manage and steer a backlog of initiatives post IFRS 17 implementation. These initiatives include process improvements and system optimizations that will support the global Business Groups and Corporate functions across our global shared Finance, Actuarial and ALM teams. The objective is to achieve a less resource intensive and faster Quarter End. The Senior Business Analyst has deep knowledge of a wide variety of business concepts, practices, and procedures and general Finance operations; they rely on their expertise, experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, and to perform a variety of tasks. The Senior business Analyst conducts needs analysis, writes requirements, collaborates with others for system and process design; and supports teams to increase productivity and reduce costs.
What will you do?
Facilitate the identification of business and IT process improvements
Work collaboratively with team members to address high-priority backlog items
Create portfolio and budget reporting and summarize key results; manage and track key issues, risks, decisions, and actions
Work with the Product Owners/Project Managers to conduct analysis on business requests with a focus on the links between processes and systems throughout the organization
Analyze and document how systems, processes, procedures and clients will be impacted by future development
Analyze and define user requirements with global business partners and work with IT to translate them into system requirements/user stories
Create and/or provide input into internal and external communications and user documentation
Review and provide feedback to business and technical documentation
Develop and or re-design new processes to support stakeholders
Create clear and concise process documentation
Work with business on the roll out of what has been developed and analysis on impacts
Support testing with a focus on end to end validation
Support the creation of an Oracle Decommissioning plan and tracking against it
Key Skills
CPA designation preferred or equivalent experience
BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
Experience with varying requirements gathering techniques
Skilled at finding hidden requirements, edge cases, and a “desire to break” attitude
Skilled in Microsoft Office suite of products
Knowledge of overall financial services industry
Deep knowledge of relevant business, processes, systems and capabilities
Skilled in test execution and understanding the outcomes
