Senior Bas Technician

 

Description:

The Building Automation Technician will be responsible for projects, maintenance, and service calls. Under the supervision of the Building Automation Operations Manager, Project Managers, and with the help of Service Coordinators / Administrators, the Building Automation Technician will conduct themselves successfully and as required to fulfill contracts, contribute to projects, and service their valued clients and stakeholders.

A Typical Day
 

  • Investigation of existing or new systems, existing or new equipment.
  • Operate and configure PC workstations, user interfaces, IP networking devices.
  • Network start-up and setup and troubleshooting (IP, RS-485, etc.).
  • Perform wiring checkout and automation start-ups using provided software and tools.
  • Maintains daily, weekly, and/or monthly documentation and or reports as required.
  • Respond to emergencies as needed including emergency calls at non-scheduled hours.
  • Implement a graphical user interface (GUI).
  • Documenting and cataloging commissioning.
     

Successful Candidates Will Have
 

  • Demonstrated experience working with Building Automation Systems.
  • 5 years of experience as a BAS Technician.
  • College Diploma in Electromechanical Engineering Technology or similar.
  • Experience working with Programming tools such as Niagara Workbench, Schneider Electric EcoStruxure, FinBuilder, Honeywell Spyder Tools, Johnson Controls PCT, American Automatrix Engineering Centre, and / or Distech Controls GFX.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new software and interfaces.
  • Demonstrated experience with IP Networking, Low voltage control systems, Mechanical and HVAC systems, and Electromechanical devices.
