Senior Analyst

Reporting to the Manager, Planning and Measurement if you can dream up better ways to visualize data and explain statistics to a layperson, you could be the perfect fit for this role that we are looking for.

The role of the Analyst handles the following responsibilities in the Corporate Planning and Reporting branch:

  • Provides credible, understandable and actionable performance data and performance expertise for the Ministry in a way that helps senior leadership, elected officials and the public understand how we’re doing as an organization.
  • Develops recommendations for the Ministry’s suite of public performance measures and leads regular review and improvement exercises.
  • Develops internal metrics for program and policy initiatives, working collaboratively with subject matter experts and maintains risk registers, develops corporate risk monitoring and reporting processes, and designs tools and resources to build the organization’s capacity.
  • Helps in implementing a systematic process for managing risk across the organization, using your knowledge of risk management and your ability to manage projects and business processes.
  • Balances the need for risks to be both actionable and strategic and to assist leadership in articulating risks clearly, concisely and strategically.
  • Collaborates with the team and with colleagues across the department to develop public facing business plans and annual reports that meet the needs of legislators and the public.
  • Provides consultation, advice, expertise and recommendations to executives, management and staff across the ministry in the areas of performance measurement and risk management.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships within the department and with GOA representatives, stakeholders and partners.
  • Collaborates with colleagues across the department and using your skills in critical thinking, methodology development and data analysis to develop public facing performance measures and internal metrics.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • University graduation in a related field plus 2 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.
