What will you do?

  • Prepare, process and document accounting entries
  • Record transactions in accordance with the approved accounting policy or procedure
  • Maintain, analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of transactions
  • Monitor/correct accounting errors
  • Support Accountants and Senior Accountants with data and financial information
  • Complete all year-end related work as assigned
  • Help review and analyze financial systems
  • Assist with critical analysis of processes and recommend improvements or efficiencies
  • Work on assigned projects
  • Work in a team environment
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a recognized accounting diploma
  • 3 years of accounting experience, including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, accounting and analysis of accounts such as prepaid expenses, deposits, inventory & deferred revenue

Skills required for success:

  • Ability to effectively communicate, maintain working relationships and positive problem solving
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices
  • Strong proficiency using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Applications (Word and Excel) is required
  • Technical proficiency with major financial software systems, such as SAP, is an asset
  • Ability to meet daily deadlines while balancing priorities that are continually changing due to competing requests
  • High level of analytical and conceptual skills to identify and resolve complex financial problems
  • Critical thinking competency and a continuous learning mindset
  • Ability to contribute as a positive team player in a customer-focused service environment
  • Demonstrate service excellence, embracing diversity and promoting inclusiveness while ensuring adherence to professional standards
  • Ability to work independently, integrating newly acquired knowledge and making decisions in the absence of a supervisor
