What will you do?
- Prepare, process and document accounting entries
- Record transactions in accordance with the approved accounting policy or procedure
- Maintain, analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of transactions
- Monitor/correct accounting errors
- Support Accountants and Senior Accountants with data and financial information
- Complete all year-end related work as assigned
- Help review and analyze financial systems
- Assist with critical analysis of processes and recommend improvements or efficiencies
- Work on assigned projects
- Work in a team environment
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a recognized accounting diploma
- 3 years of accounting experience, including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, accounting and analysis of accounts such as prepaid expenses, deposits, inventory & deferred revenue
Skills required for success:
- Ability to effectively communicate, maintain working relationships and positive problem solving
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices
- Strong proficiency using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Applications (Word and Excel) is required
- Technical proficiency with major financial software systems, such as SAP, is an asset
- Ability to meet daily deadlines while balancing priorities that are continually changing due to competing requests
- High level of analytical and conceptual skills to identify and resolve complex financial problems
- Critical thinking competency and a continuous learning mindset
- Ability to contribute as a positive team player in a customer-focused service environment
- Demonstrate service excellence, embracing diversity and promoting inclusiveness while ensuring adherence to professional standards
