Description:
As the successful candidate, you have already completed your studies and have 5 + years progressive work experience and have completed your designation. You are known for your desire to succeed, you work well under pressure, have excellent attention to detail and you understand the need to be flexible with respect to changing priorities and deadlines.
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation and review of working paper files
- Making recommendations based on analysis and status of corporate and personal accounts
- Reviewing journal entries of junior accountants to ensure accuracy
- Training and mentoring junior staff
- Performing variance analyses and preparing account reconciliations
- Assisting with financial and tax audits
- Documenting and monitoring internal controls in support of auditing team
- Coordinating more complex accounting projects and initiatives
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation), excellent interpersonal and management skills
- Experienced with Caseware, Tax Prep, QuickBook and Simply Accounting would be considered an asset
- Interest in the CPA In-depth Tax Program or currently enrolled in the program would be considered to be an asset.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
