Description:
ICM Asset Management is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the accounting duties for several investment funds and underlying properties, with various legal structures including limited partnerships; limited liability companies and corporations.
This opportunity is based in Atlanta, Georgia and will be reporting to the Director, Finance & Operations and CCO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review monthly accounting packages from US Property Portfolio Managers.
- Review annual budgets from US Property Portfolio Managers.
- Coordination of services with all US Property Portfolio Managers.
- Assist in development of standard property reporting package.
- Mapping of US Property trial balances to the ICM trial balance.
- Import of monthly transactions from US Properties in ICM’s accounting system (YARDI).
- Review monthly property cash flows from the Portfolio Managers and manage the cash requirements including coordinating the monthly capital call requests.
- Compare the cash flow requirements with the current budget.
- Preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements of US REIT (ICM (VII) US Realty LP).
- Provide support for interim and year-end audits of US investment funds, including liaising with both the auditor and US Property Portfolio Managers on all required communications and documents.
- Provide support for year-end tax filings of US investment funds, including liaising with both the tax advisor and US Property Portfolio Managers on all required tax filings.
- Coordination of all other required tax filings for US entities.
- Coordination of financial reporting of ICM corporate entity with Canadian counterparts including recording and maintaining journal entries, managing accounts payable, overseeing cash management, preparing quarterly reporting, budget and forecasts and overseeing annual tax filings to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Assistance with US property appraisals.
- Any other tasks that the management team may request of the Senior Accountant.
- Prepare various reports for Manager, as requested.
Your Qualifications:
- CPA with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of commercial real estate accounting experience.
- Energetic, ethical, accountable and have a strong “can-do” attitude.
- Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Accuracy and attention to detail while multi-tasking and working under tight deadlines.
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with key business partners and corporate departments
- Familiarity with real estate development process.
- Experience with Yardi’s accounting and real estate software, domestic tax compliance and planning and investment fund structuring are assets.
